When I Forget That I'm Sick

I know my body is wasting each and every day
And I know it hurts you to see me go this way
Regardless of the pain I’ve got too much to lose
This isn’t something I thought we’d go through

But sitting on the weekend and I glance in your direction
I brush my hand with yours and right in that second
You flash me a smile and I’m hypnotized
There’s something about that slight glint in your eyes, then

For a short while I go right back in time
When pain and heartbreak didn’t take over my mind
And my body works and songs fall from my lips
For a brief moment I close my eyes and forget that I’m sick
